Satchi has beautiful new feathers coming in all over. Her diet has improved, she has gained a little weight and we give her lots and lots of attention. She had a beautiful tail feather that was almost totaly in and last night I found half of it in her cage. She hasn't picked in almost a month. Why would she start again Question Nothing has changed in the houshold or in the attention she gets. She has accepted her new diet, toys, the dog and other birds. What the heck is going on with her Question Sad

Habit, hormones, season change, the SLIGHTEST most MINISCULE change even you may not have noticed...could be anything.

My friend has two plucking 'Toos (an Eleanora & a Goffins). They go through phases as well. They stop for several months after their collars have been removed, but then start back up again.

They will even jerk away when someone is scritching them, so the person "pulls" their feather out. They will eat their feathers that they pluck. It is the strangest thing!

I bought Satchi a stuffed monkey today. She has half of it torn to shreds already but I have not seen her picking at herself.
